Knorr was founded by Carl Heinrich Knorr in Heilbronn, Germany, in 1838. His experiments with drying vegetables and seasonings led to the first Knorr dried soups in 1873. Further innovations followed, including sauce mixes and the Knorr bouillon cube, introduced in 1912.
