Ferrero grew from a small pastry shop in Alba, in Italy's Piedmont region, where Pietro Ferrero experimented with local hazelnuts when cocoa was scarce after the Second World War. The family opened its first factory in Alba in 1946, beginning the confectionery business behind Ferrero Rocher, Nutella, Kinder and Tic Tac.
Pantry currently carries Rocher from Ferrero.
