Verstegen Oregano is aromatisch, scherp, kruidig bitter van smaak en heeft een peperige ondertoon die kenmerkend is voor het kruid. De geur is tevens kenmerkend voor oregano; deze wordt omschreven als houtachtig, kruidig en met een licht parfumachtig aroma. Het gaat goed samen met tomaat en kaas. Daarom vind je dit kruid veel terug in Italiaanse gerechten, zoals op pizza’s en in gerechten met tomatensaus. Ook wordt het kruid veel gebruikt in Griekse gerechten zoals salades of dips en past het kruid goed in alledaagse vis-, groenten- en vleesgerechten. Het product is verkrijgbaar in een large strooibus.
